This villa was built by Rihei Kumamoto, a large Japanese landlord who ran a large-scale farm in Gunsan during the Japanese colonial period.It is a villa-like building that was used as a temporary residence when visiting the farm during the spring and harvest seasons a year. It has various eclectic stylistic characteristics, and after liberation, Dr. Ssangcheon Lee Youngchun, a pioneer of rural health and hygiene in Korea, resided and was called the Lee Youngchun House.
Due to the beautiful exterior of the building, it is a filming location for many movies and dramas such as the freezing point, the hourglass, and the savage era. Ssangcheon Dr. Youngchun Lee is called Schweitzer in Korea, and Ssangcheon means two strands of spring water, that is, a spring water that heals a disease and a spring water that heals the soul.
Dr. Young-Chun Lee was born in October 1903 in Yonggang-gun, South Pyeongan Province. In April 1935, at the young age of 33, he was appointed as the president of the Jahye Clinic in order to take care of 20,000 peasant families belonging to the Kumamoto farm of the Jeonbuk revision with the introduction of Professor Wadanabe of Kyungsung University, who was the homeroom teacher of the Pyongyang High School. He implemented Korea's first nursing teacher system and medical insurance association.
